Nungua Coldstore has delivered a major statement in its quest for a second Tema Community Basketball League title with a blowout win over Tema Heat.
Coldstore romped to an 86-56 win in the second game of the three game finals series earlier tonight at the Tema Community 4 Court.
After a shock 58-63 loss in Game One, the regular season Number One seed made its intentions very clear from jump ball and flat out dominated the matchup.
Clinching 38-16 and 49-24 leads in the first and second quarters respectively, Tema Heat never looked capable of coming back into the tie.
Game 3 will be played on December 9 to decide the winner of the 2018 title with Heat expecting the return of veteran Guard Patrick Gomerli.
Kontor Appiah and Andrews Ayienab traded three pointers to make score Heat 38-67 for Coldstore in the third quarter. Heat Forward Benjamin Owari scored four points to end the third quarter with his side trailing 44-69.
Kofi Agyei got Coldstore on the board with a three pointer in the final quarter but Heat Center Prosper Dorsu made an immediate impact off the bench with a big put back dunk.
Kareem Awudu added a three pointer for Heat but Agyei delivered a two handed dunk before Joy Ofori scored from deep off a brilliant passing move. Coldstore Guard Kwame Poku completed a three point play to put the icing on the cake.
