Gyan attempts a three point shot v Galaxy

Tudu Galaxy’s four game winning run is over following a 68-80 loss to Adenta Tusk earlier today at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu.

The home side will rue several missed baskets from the free throw line in the third quarter when the game’s lead hang in the balance. Foul trouble also hurt Galaxy’s chances of winning the tie as key players had to watch from the bench late on in the game.

On the back of a loss in Week 6, Adenta’s win is the team’s fourth of the season in seven games the same as Galaxy.

Galaxy’s Mohammed Braimah and Adenta’s Frederick Gyan scored circus shots in the final minutes of the first quarter. Galaxy trailed 10-17 and went on a six point run to reduce the deficit to one. Gyan’s three point play gave Tusk a 20-17 quarter lead.

The second quarter slowly with just four points scored in the opening four minutes. However, both teams picked up the effort on offense and traded baskets in a 34-30 lead for Adenta.

Galaxy Guard Aminu Mohammed opened the third quarter’s scoring with four straight points to tie the score at 34.

Hussein Bajigah extended Adenta’s lead to 48-42 with 3:43 remaining after intercepting a pass and finishing with a layup. Adenta led 55-52 heading to the final quarter as Galaxy missed several free throws.

Raymond Affram scored six straight points on strong drives to the rim to give Galaxy a 63-61 lead with six minutes remaining. But Galaxy collapsed late on in the game with several key players fouling out. Adenta won 80-68.
