Record winners of Ghana’s biggest High School basketball competition, Sprite Ball, Mfansipim School headlines he list of representatives for the Central Region in the competition’s next edition.
Mfantsipim School and Adisadel College will represent the region in the Boys Division after the two schools played in the division’s final game earlier today at Adisadel.
Mfantsipim walked away with a 23-16 win to defend its regional title with bitter rival St. Augustine’s College finishing third after beating Adankwaman Senior High School 20-10.
However, the 2016 national champions will not participate in next year’s competition after missing the final game with a 19-29 loss to Adisadel proving crucial.
In the Girls Division, Mfantsiman Girls Senior High School managed to end its misfortunes regarding qualification to the national competition by coming out in first place.
The team beat three time national champions and defending champions Wesley Girls High School 7-6 in the final game to take region’s sole spot at the national level.
Mfantsiman had missed out on playing in the last two editions of Sprite Ball.
