Head Coach of Mfantsiman Girls Senior High School Ernest Koomson continues to bask in the glory of ending Mfantsiman’s absence in the Sprite Ball Championship.
The Saltpond-based institution ended its three year wait to play in Ghana’s biggest High School basketball tournament by beating Wesley Girls High School 7-6 in the Central Regional qualifiers.
The qualifiers were played out at the Adisadel College in Cape-Coast on Thursday, November 29 and Mfantsiman grabbed the sole ticket available in the Girls Division.
In the Boys Division, Mfantsipim School and host Adisadel will represent the region at next year’s Championship. Mfantsipim beat Adisadel 23-16 in the final game.
By bookending its brilliant run with a place in next year’s Sprite Ball edition, Mfantsiman’s confidence is at all time high highlighted by Coach Koomson’s comments.
“This is our time. Mfantsiman Girls will win the next edition of the Sprite Ball Championship. We will be well prepared and ready for the Championship. Watch out for Mfantsiman Girls” he said.
