Mfantsiman Girls Senior High School posits a confident tone ahead of this year’s Central Regional Qualifiers today in Cape-Coast.
The school joins five other teams to battle for the region’s sole spot at Ghana’s biggest Senior High School Basketball competition-Sprite Ball at the Adisadel College.
After missing the past two Sprite Ball editions, Mfantsiman is confident of ending its barren run in the competition especially after their recent exploits.
The team eliminated two time national champions Aggrey Memorial Zion Senior High School from contention by topping its zonal division.
Mfantsiman beat Aggrey Memorial and Ghana National College to the top to seal a place in the regional qualifiers and get a step closer to break its qualification jinx.
Coach Ernest Koomson has been talking tough ahead of the qualifiers and in an interview with Basketballghana.com he said:
“We came first in Zone 1, putting Ghana National and Aggrey Memorial behind and we are going to do same…whoever thinks is ready for us just bring it on”.
Adankwaman Senior High School, Oguaa Senior High School, Swedru School of Business, Wesley Girls High School and Winneba Senior High School are the remaining contenders.
