Nungua Coldstore has lost Game One of the 2018 Tema Community Basketball League Finals to Tema Heat after a 58-63 result.
The loss means Coldstore must win on Sunday, December 2 at the Tema Community 4 Court at 17:30 GMT to extend the series to a third game.
However, Game One’s result could have been totally different had the 2016 League Champions avoided turning the ball over frequently.
Both teams were guilty of giving away possession and missing shots at the rim when players had clean looks at various points in the game.
For Coldstore, the Nungua side had three straight fast break opportunities in the third quarter to extend its 17-14 first half lead but made questionable decisions.
The team tried unsuccessfully to finish off plays with alley oop dunks and Forward Kofi Agyei pulled off an over the shoulder maneuver that was neither a pass nor an attempted shot.
There were unlucky misses right beneath the basket from Kwame Boamah Djan, Gerald Sappor and Emmanuel Wolff in a single possession that bounced off the rim.
