Tema Heat clinched a 63-58 win over Nungua Coldstore in Game One of the 2018 Tema Community Basketball League Finals.
The game was played out this past weekend at the Tema Community 4 Court with an impressive crowd turning up to witness the exciting game.
Heat beat the odds to clinch victory ahead of Game 2 on Sunday, December 2 at the same venue; another win for Heat wins them this year’s title.
Tema’s win was more impressive considering the team played without veteran Guard Patrick Gomerli who is in Nigeria to feature in the FIBA Zone 3 Africa Championship.
The very experienced Guard is with Ghana’s representative at the competition-Braves of Customs- and the tournament tips off tonight and ends on December 2.
Should Coldstore force a third and final game in the series, Gomerli is likely to feature in the decider further deepening Heat’s roster.
Despite his absence, Heat shook off a sluggish start to clinch the five point victory late on in the final quarter.
