Interclube of Angola and Ferroviario Maputo of Mozambique have qualified to played in the final game of this year’s FIBA Africa Women’s Champions Cup. The game tips off at 20:00 GMT.
The final tips off later today in Maputo, Mozambique with Interclube on the verge of extending its dominance on the continent.
The Angolan side holds the record for the number of trophies (5) and a sixth title is on the cards tonight after beating AS Vita Club in the semifinals.
Interclube clinched a 76-56 win over the club from Democratic Republic of Congo featuring in its maiden semifinal appearance in the competition’s history.
Home side Ferroviario beat Nigeria’s First Bank 72-59; the win was hardly surprising considering First Bank’s struggles to get past FAP Basketball of Cameroon courtesy a 69-66 win.
First Bank takes on Vita Club to decide which teams ranks third and fourth in the competition with Kenya Ports Authority beating Madagascar’s MBA2ALL 52-49 to place seventh.
Further classification games to decide fifth and sixth placed teams will be determined today between FAP and I.N.S.S.
