Six weeks into the 2018 Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division II season, the young season has been hit by controversies.
Teshie Rangers recently withdrew from participating in the competition after playing three games citing varied reasons including dire finances.
The team fell just a spot outside the three qualifying spots to Division I last season but had trouble putting a team together to feature in this year’s division.
With the situation yet to quiet down, Swanlakers game against Tudu Galaxy was abandoned just moments before the end of the game.
With 3:57 remaining in the fourth quarter, Swanlakers walked off the court abandoning the match with Galaxy leading 91-58.
Swanlakers had just four players available to continue the game after two players fouled out of the contest; the team presented just six players for the game.
This represents another low point in the campaign which has Adabraka CYO leading the standings with 12 points from winning all six games played. The team beat Ada Knights 90-53 in the first game in Week 6.
