Two competing teams in the Tema Community Basketball League will feature in this year’s Avenor Tutudoza Basketball Festival this weekend in Akatsi in Ghana’s Volta Region.
Akatsi Rifles and Tema Community 4 will represent the league in the one day competition to celebrate the annual festival to be climaxed with a summit on November 24.
The duo joins the ten team pool for tomorrow’s competition which has the likes of Swanlakers from Kaneshie, Flames from Aflao and a special select side from Ho competing.
Rifles and Community 4 recently participated in the 2018 Tema League season where both teams made it to the playoffs.
Community 4 are former winners of the league winning it in 2016 courtesy a sweep of Ashaiman Lions in the finals series. However, C4 failed to defend its title losing to Tema Community 2.
Rifles made the postseason as the eighth seed and exited the competition at the hands of Nungua Coldstore. Rifles are the host team for the Avenor Tutudoza Basketball competition.
Veteran sides including Tema Shepherds are competing in tomorrow’s games.
