Swanlakers Basketball Club of Kaneshie will not compete in this weekend’s round of games in the 2018 Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division II.

The team was scheduled to play Teshie Rangers as part of five games to mark Week 5 but Swanlakers gets an off day due to Rangers withdrawal.

Rangers withdrew from participating in the division due to financial challenges and having a small number of players for selection.

The Teshie based side’s final act in the division was in a 56-101 loss to Tudu Galaxy in Week 3; Rangers had five players available for selection and ended the game with just two players.

As a result, Swanlakers is guaranteed a win via forfeiture with a 20-0 result for its first win of the season after going four games without a victory.

Swanlakers is one of ten teams set to play in this year’s Avenor Tutudoza Festival Basketball tournament alongside host team Akatsi Rifles, Tema Community 4, Flames from Aflao and Adabraka CYO Veterans in the one day competition.
