Nungua Coldstore’s upcoming game against Tema Heat on Sunday, November 18 at the Tema Community 4 Court has taken a step higher in pedigree.
The game will be played out in the final series of the 2018 Tema Community Basketball League a year after the matchup was played in the bronze medal game.
In the 2017 campaign, the defending champions Coldstore lost to Ashaiman Lions while Heat lost to Tema Community 4 in the semifinals series.
The losing semifinalists faced off in a one off game to decide the winner of the bronze medal; Heat triumphed 53-50 to take third place.
However, both teams have stepped up this season as Coldstore completed a sweep of Tema Community 2 this past weekend via 53-46 win. Nungua beat C2 75-65 in Game One.
Heat qualified to the final game in the same way beating Francophone Stars 53-51 in Game One and 62-57 in Game Two in a tightly contested series.
Tema Heat seeks its first league title while Coldstore is on the hunt for a second league trophy.
