Ghana’s Female team did not make it beyond the group stages of the just ended 2018 FIBA 3X3 Africa Cup that had Ivory Coast and Mali clinch the title in the Male and Female Divisions respectively.
Ghana two straight defeats in Pool A that ruled the team out of contention for a spot in the latter stages of the competition.
Cape Verde beat Ghana 17-13 in the opening game before Uganda eased past Ghana with a 21-6 win to progress after clinching a win over Cape-Verde with a similar large margin (21-5).
Mali progressed to the final game by beating Africa highest ranked nation Uganda21-16 in the quarterfinals and home side Togo 15-8. Mali has successfully defended its title.
The West African nation lifted the trophy with a 19-13 win over Democratic Republic of Congo and Togo shocked Nigeria with a 19-17 result to win bronze.
Ghana did not feature in the Male Division which was won by Ivory Coast 14-6 win over Uganda. Defending Champions Nigeria had to settle for third place.
