Our Lady of Grace Senior High School has successfully hosted this year’s Ashanti Regional Basketball qualifiers for the next Sprite Ball Championship.
The privately owned Catholic institution located in Mamponteng put together a wonderful show befitting some of the best basketball talents in the nation.
Our Lady’s two standard basketball courts gave organizers enough room to handle games without hastening through the fixtures like in previous years.
Previous competitions held at locations with a single court constrained Ghana Education Service personnel organizing the competition especially those bordering on crowd control
But those frustrations were absent with Our Lady of Grace location and security measures ensuring a well run tournament despite not participating in the competition.
Opoku Ware Schoo won the Boys Division beating Prempeh College 26-21 in the final game to retain its regional title. Both schools have qualified to the next Sprite Ball Championship.
Kumasi Girls High School retained its regional trophy beating St. Louis Senior High School 19-12. Both schools qualify to Sprite Ball to be held in January, 2019.
