Prempeh (white) in action in last year’s regional competition.
Opoku Ware won the boys division at the December Sprite Ball Championship.

Eight teams in the Boys Division and eight teams in the Girls Division will be in action this weekend as the final round of qualifiers to next year’s Sprite Ball Championship gets underway.

The qualifiers take place on Friday, November 4 at the Our Lady of Grace Senior High School in Mampongteng for the first time ever.

The High School boasts top sports facilities equipped with two basketball courts to host games in both divisions simultaneously.

Defending Champions Opoku Ware School headlines the Male Division which has arch rivals Prempeh College and Kumasi Anglican Senior High School competing.

Opoku Ware secured last year’s title ahead of Prempeh albeit under controversial circumstances when the game had to be cancelled due to weather and lighting conditions.

In the Girls Division, Kumasi Girls High School is the pick of the bunch as the school doubles as the defending champions following its triumph in Accra earlier this year.

Tepa Senior High School and Kumasi Wesley Girls High School will compete in the division after qualifying from the zonal division ahead of two time national champions T.I. Ahmadiyya.
