Panthers beat Adenta (yellow)

Panthers took home the final win in Week 3 of the 2018 Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division II courtesy a 59-53 win over Adenta Tusk.

To get its second win in three games, Panthers withstood an outstanding performance from the young Tusk side to end proceedings in the third week of competition.

Adenta Tusk Guard Frederick Gyan had a big first quarter in his side’s 12-11 win in the quarter after Panthers Forward Eric Adorku gave his side the lead with a couple of points early in the first quarter.

Tusk trailed early in the second quarter but a three point shot from Bajigah Hussein got Tusk within three points of Panthers 23 points.

Adenta opened the third quarter with a 12-0 run that gave them a 32-23 lead. Panthers got back in the game with shots coming from the free throw line. Score was tied at 32 with 5:02 remaining.

Feranmi Olulonyo had Panthers a 35-32 lead before two straight three point shots put Adenta back in the lead. Olulonyo’s tipped in offensive rebound was the final act in the third quarter which ended in a 41-39 lead for Adenta.

Score was tied at 53 with 3:18 remaining in the game with the game’s lead changing many times. Kwame Attafuah gave Panthers a 57-53 lead with 1:15 on the clock. Attafuah added another shot to give Panthers the six point win.
