Two time winners of the Sprite Ball Championship T.I. Ahmadiyya Senior High School is not in the running to clinch a third title at the upcoming edition.

The school has been knocked out of the Ashanti regional qualifiers which head to the final round on Friday, November 9 in the capital Kumasi.

Tepa Senior High school and Kumasi Wesley Girls High School qualified from the zonal division ahead of the 2014 and 2015 Champions in shocking fashion.

The qualified schools join the likes of St. Louis Girls Senior High School and defending regional and Sprite Ball Champions Kumasi Girls Senior High School.

Kumasi Girls was the latest school from the region to win the coveted Sprite Ball trophy after beating Accra Wesley Girls 30-29 in overtime at the last edition held in January this year.

The next national edition will be held in January, 2019 on a yet to be determined date at the El Wak Stadium in Accra. Regional heavyweights Prempeh College and Opoku Ware School will compete in the boys division next Friday.
