Dichemso Chiefs Academy has won this year’s Kumasi City Mall Basketball Tournament held recently in Ghana’s Ashanti regional capital, Kumasi.

The competition was held at the city’s Mallwith nine teams participating and Chiefs edging Ayeduase Snipers 48-34 to clinch the tournament.

The tournament featured a host of teams participating in the ClockWork powered KumasiBasketball League including Snipers.

Ejisu Razors, Ashanti Royals, Patasi Invaders and Asafo Klicks took a break from league play to compete in the annual event.

Snipers and Comets played the first semifinal game that ended in a 32-28 win for Snipers while Chiefs beat Ejisu Razors 35-23 setting up the big clash.

Chiefs ended up with 14 point win to win the title this season; the title is the latest positive mark for the team in recent weeks.

The Benjamin Sarpong spurred Academy received a sizable donation from US based Basketball Coach Allon Freiman earlier this month.

Members of the Academy also participated in the 2018 Giants of Africa Basketball Camp held in Prestea.
