Ghana Forward Ben Bentil’s side, Peristeri GS, ranks third in the Greek A1 League standings following the conclusion of games in the fourth week.
Peristeri gained promotion to the elite division ahead of this season by winning the 2017-2018 A2 season. The team signed Bentil a month before the season’s commencement.
Peristeri has won all four games played this season including Week 4’s 87-56 win over Kymis; the team has clinched wins over Holargos and AEK Athens.
In the aftermath of the 31 point win over Kymis, Peristeri moved to the summit of the 14 team league but has dropped to third.
Giants Panathinaikos and Olympiakos lead the standings after the duo clinched wins on Monday, October 29 over Aris and Cretan Kings respectively.
Panathinaikos beat Cretan Kings 88-64 as Olympiakos dropped Aris with a 68-64 result. Olympiacos ranks first and Panathinaikos in second place.
Peristeri GS and the rival giants remain the only sides in the league yet to lose a game this season. Bentil scored 15 points in Peristeri’s game over the weekend and is the only Ghana born player to play in the NBA.
