The 2018-2019 GSP Basketball League season gets underway today with the much anticipated season set to finally tip off in Sunyani.
The league start date was originally planned for September but varied challenges prevented the games from going ahead as planned.
However, those challenges have been scaled and Spartans take on Barracks Scorpions in the opening game as at the time of writing at the Sunyani Technical University (STU) Court.
Spartans, Young Boys and Techiman Merchants are the new teams added to the roster which has in previous seasons had eight competing teams.
Desert Rabbits play West Siders in the final game at STU before the league venue switches to the Eusbett Court for the remaining three games.
Defending champions Suncity Braves play Catholic University College, Ghana (CUCG) Saints in its first game of the season. Braves are tipped to win against one of last season’s poor performers.
Newbies Young Boys and Merchants face off before LIR Royals play STU in the final game.
