Basketballghana.com can confirm all is clear for the 2018-2019 GSP Basketball League to commence this weekend following the release of fixture for the opening round of games.
The start of the new season has been hampered by financial and administrative challenges causing several postponements.
However, lingering issues have been resolved and the league starts on Saturday, October 27 with a game between new boys Spartans and Barracks Scorpions at the Sunyani Technical University (STU) Court at 7:00 AM.
Spartans is one of three new teams in the league this season; Young Boys and Techiman Merchants are the remaining two to play in the league for the first time.
Scorpions’ game will be followed by a matchup between Desert Rabbits and West Siders before the venue switches to the Eusbett Court later in the day.
Catholic University College (CUCG) Saints play Suncity Braves at Eusbett at 15:30GMT before Merchants play against Young Boys.
The final game of the round is between LIR Royals and STU; 2016-2017 winners University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) is not competing this season.
