Nungua Coldstore and Tema Community 2 have sealed their places in the next round of the 2018 Tema Community Basketball League playoffs.
Both teams sealed qualification with wins in Game 2 of their respective series against Akatsi Rifles and defending champions Tema Community 4.
Coldstore topped Rifles with an 89-59 win while Community 2 piped Community 4 40-38 in another close encounter between the bitter rivals.
Game 2 had Rifles competing better than they did in Game One which ended in a 73-38 win for 2016 league champions Nungua.
With its elimination sealed, Rifles couldn’t capitalize on its lucky entry into the postseason after second seed Ashaiman Lions withdrawal prior to the postseason start.
While Coldstore’s qualification is pretty routine, Community 2’s qualification is not rather one clinched with sheer determination not to be outdone by a rival.
C2’s qualification was sealed with the two point win on Sunday on the back of a 33-27 win in Game One; Community 4 Shooting Guard Kent Fosu played in the game after missing Game One.
