Basketballghana.com can confirm Ashaiman Lions will not feature in the 2018 Tema Community Basketball League playoff games.
This comes after the team withdrew recently from the competition it was set to feature in as the second seed from the regular season.
Reasons behind the withdrawal stems from Lions unhappiness towards league organizers on treatment meted out to the team.
The team ended the 2018 regular season in second place behind Nungua Coldstore with a record of 13 wins in 18 games.
Ashaiman was billed to play Teshie Vikings later today in the first round of playoff games at the Tema Community 4 Court.
The latest news ends any chance of Lions winning a league title it has missed out after going to two straight finals. Lions lost the 2016 title to Coldstore and the 2017 title to Community 4.
Vikings qualified to the playoffs in its debut season in the league by clinching the seventh seed; Vikings split the season with nine wins and nine losses.
Now ranked sixth Vikings will face third seed Francophone Stars. Akatsi Rifles replaces Lions in the playoff bracket.
