Golden Star Resources Corporate Affairs Manager Gerard Boakye has described his firm’s partnership with Giants of Africa (GOA) as “wise” in an interview on basketball program “Courtside” on Ghana channel Kwese Free Sports.
This comes ahead of GOA’s third Camp in Ghana due to take place in Prestea from October 12-14 with 54 young players participating.
This year’s camp will be the first to be held outside Ghana’s capital, Accra and participants have been selected from several locations in the country.
This is Golden Star Resources first involvement in GOA’s flagship program which has held similar events in various African countries over a decade. Boakye noted the Not for Profit Organization’s outstanding track record was a major reason behind the partnership.
“It is wise to partner with people and organizations who are experts in specific fields that’s why we partnered GOA” he said.
The mining firm has an operational base in Prestea and has constructed two basketball courts in the town as part of the partnership.
