Not for Profit Organization Giants of Africa (GOA) will hold its third camp in Ghana from Friday October 12 to Sunday October 14 in Prestea.
This will be GOA’s third camp in Ghana and its first outside Ghana’s capital Accra; similar camps were held in 2015 and 2016.
54 young players from various locations in the West African nation have been selected to participate in this year’s camp.
Participants will be trained by top professional basketball coaches and life coaches to groom them to become leaders in society.
GOA has had camps for over a decade and earlier this year held one in Kenya as it continues to spread basketball across the African continent.
The 2018 Camp in Ghana will be held in partnership with mining firm Golden Star Resources to fulfill its social responsibilities to the youth of Prestea.
The company has constructed two basketball courts which double as recreational centers for the camp will be opened at a grand durbar on Saturday October 13. GOA was founded by Toronto Raptors Manager Masai Ujiri.
