Ghanaian Italian Forward Awudu Abass played for Leonessa Brescia in his new team’s 59-81 loss to former side Olimpia Milano.
The loss prevents Brescia from progressing to the final game of the Italian Super Cup this season; Milan is set to play Torino in the final game.
Despite the heavy loss, the 6 foot 7 inch player registered 15 points leading his team in points with teammate Jordan Hamilton adding 14 points in the loss.
Abass played two seasons for Milan before signing with Brescia ahead of this season; he won the Italian League earlier this year with Milan.
Born to a Ghanaian father and Nigerian in Italy, Abass has represented the country of his birth from the juvenile level to the senior level.
He recently featured in Italy’s wins over Hungary and Poland in European qualifiers for the 2019 FIBA World Cup in China.
Milan was led by Serbian Guard Nemanja Nedovic who registered 23 points, seven assists and four rebounds in the win.
