Not for profit Organization Giants of Africa (GOA) strives to boost basketball development according to Local Coordinator Neequaye Kotei.

He made this known in an interview on premier basketball show “Courtside” on Kwese Free Sports in Ghana mere days prior to the arrival of GOA’s contingent in Ghana.

GOA’s Camp in the West African nation will be held from October 12-14 at Prestea in the country’s Western Region in partnership with Golden Star Resources.

This year’s Camp is the first to be held outside Ghana’s capital, Accra; GOA has held similar camps in 2015 and 2016.

“GOA boosts basketball development in a country and we use basketball as a tool to enrich the lives of people” Kotei said in the interview.

54 young players have been selected from different locations in the country for the camp which will be held at a newly built facility in Prestea.

This year’s edition is expected to the biggest yet with Ghana Basketball Association Chairman David Addo Ashong backing the event.

Toronto Raptors Manager Masai Ujiri is the founder of Giants of Africa.
