Ghana Center Amida Brimah is in line to feature in Perth Wildcats preseason game against NBA side Denver Nuggets tonight.
The former University of Connecticut Captain was called up late into the Australian National Basketball League (NBL) side’s roster for the game due to an injury.
Perth’s Angus Brandt is injured for the tie and Brimah has been called up to replace him; Brimah worked out for Nuggets ahead of the 2017 NBA Draft.
Amida was recently cut from San Antonio Spurs roster ahead of preseason games despite signing an Exhibit 10 contract with the team a few days before.
He played in the NBA’s Gatorade League for much of last season with Austin Spurs helping the side clinch the league title. Amida led the league in blocks.
This gives the Ghanaian standout aunique opportunity to show off his shot blocking and rim protection skills to a team that sorely lacks one.
Nuggets have played twice in preseason against the LeBron James led Los Angeles Lakers.
