The 2018 Accra Basketball League (ABL) Women’s Division will have teams with the fewest number of appearances this season face off this weekend.
On Saturday, October 6 at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu, Ghana Police Service takes on Ghana Fire Service in the only matchup in the division.
Both teams have played nine times this season which is lower than the remaining teams in the league who have played 10 times.
Police leads the standings with an unbeaten record in nine games; the team’s 18 point tally is two points ahead of close rival Braves of Customs.
Another win stretches Police’s lead to four points in what has been an excellent season thus far for the team which won the CAP 7 Tournament.
Fire heads to this weekend’s game fully aware the team will surpass Reformers of Prisons to third in the standings just by showing up to play.
Both teams are tied on 15 points and irrespective of the result, Fire’s tally will improve. However, a win will be big for a side that lost all games in the CAP 7 Tournament.
