Ghana Basketball Association Chairman David Addo Ashong has commended Giants of Africa (GOA) ahead of the group’s camp in the country.
The organization is set to host a camp for 54 young basketball players from various locations in the country from October 12-14.
This year’s camp will be the third edition following the maiden edition in 2015 held at the University of Ghana Campus in Accra.
Western Region mining town Prestea will be the host venue for the 2018 Camp and activities marking the event will take place a newly built recreational center fit with an African themed basketball court.
The court was constructed in partnership with mining firm Golden Star Resources who are on board the youth development program for the first time.
Based on the immense benefits the West African nation is on the verge of receiving, Association Chair Ashong expressed his delight:
“The entire Ghana basketball community is happy with the return of the Giants of Africa camp and looking forward to learning from the experienced coaches.”
GOA is an initiative of Toronto Raptors Executive Masai Ujiri.
