Ghana Police Service Female Basketball Team has been absent in the 2018 Accra Basketball League (ABL) games for a while.
However, the team makes a return this weekend when it comes up against Ghana Fire Service at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu. Police leads the standings with 18 points from winning all nine games.
The game was originally planned to be honored tomorrow at the same venue but got postponed to Saturday after the league’s management announcement late last night.
Police has missed games due to reasons beyond its control but mainly have to do with recent competitions on the league front.
The team had three members featured for Ghana at the FIBA 3×3 Basketball Zone 3 Championship in Cotonou, Benin helping the nation qualify to the continental competition.
This year’s continental championship commences on November 9 in Togo. Georgina Ntow, Balkisu Saleem and Zenabu Mohammed played for Ghana.
The team participated and won the CAP 7 Memorial Tournament beating arch rival Braves of Customs 37-29 in the final game. The competition was held in honour of ABL Chair Benjamin Baafi.
