Ghana National Fire Service and Adenta Leopards grabbed crucial wins in the Accra Basketball League (ABL) last round of games.
Fire secured a close 60-59 win over Tema Youth while Leopards clinched a 64-62 win over close rival Ghana Police Service.
The wins proved important for each team as Fire moved up in the league standings while Leopards tied Police point tally for the season in second place.
Police ranks second with 26 points behind leaders Braves of Customs; Leopards win ties Police in 15 games. Police has 26 points in 16 games.
At the other end of the standings, Fire moved ahead of Navy Warriors to rank sixth after clinching its sixth win in 15 games.
Warriors forfeited its matchup against Reformers of Prisons to lose 0-20 and drop to seventh place below Fire Service.
Fire plays Reformers of Prisons while Tema Youth face Adenta on Saturday, October 6 at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu. Adenta is the first team to beat Tema Youth this season.
