Today’s round of games marks the end of this year’s FIBA Women’s World Cup in Tenerife, Spain which commenced on September 22.
USA is a victory away from successfully defending the world title as it takes on Australia in today’s final game. Both nations are yet to lose a game in the competition.
However, for Africa representative Nigeria will be in action against Canada to determine which nation ends the competition in seventh and eighth place.
Both nations lost in the first set of classification games last night as African Champions Nigeria lost 62-84 to France while Canada lost 71-76 to China.
Nigeria has a big chance to end as Africa’s highest ever ranked nation at the World Cup should it end up I seventh place. The West African nation is the first from the continent to make the quarters.
China and France battle for fifth and sixth place while Belgium and host Spain play for third and fourth places in the tournament.
