USA takes on Australia in the final game of the 2018 FIBA Women’s World Cup later today at 19:00 GMT in Tenerife, Spain.
The fixture has been on the tournament’s radar since both nations topped Groups D and B respectively with dominant performances.
Australia inched past host Spain with a 72-66 win as USA had it tough in stretches of its semifinal against a resolute Belgium but secured a 93-77 win.
Five time winners USA set a tournament record becoming the first nation to record 10,000 points in the history of the World Cup in the win over Belgium.
Australia’s Opals will be led by 6 foot 8 inch Center Liz Cambage who played for WNBA side Las Vegas Aces prior to the tournament.
America is led by WNBA Most Valuable Player and league champion Breanna Stewart who scored 19 points in a 71-40 win over Nigeria in the quarterfinals.
Belgium plays Spain in the bronze medal game at 16:30 GMT. African Champions play Canada for seventh place.
