The Games will be held from April 4- April 15 at Carrara, Australia with several athletes in line to compete in sports disciplines including basketball.
Nigeria’s Male Basketball Team has qualified to compete in the basketball event later this year and is expected to perform well.
Following a good run in the past couple of years, D’Tigers are among the favorites for the event; Nigeria won the 2015 FIBA Africa Championship and placed second in 2017.
The team will be busy prior to the competition as it prepares to play in the FIBA 2019 FIBA World Cup qualifiers in Bamako, Mali from February 23-25.
Nigeria placed fourth at the last edition held in 2006 in Melbourne, Australia; the West Africa country fell behind host Australia, New Zealand and Britain.
Ghana will not compete in the Games.
