Greece’s 58-48 win over South Korea means Nigeria has to play and win its matchup against the European nation for a place in the quarterfinals at the ongoing FIBA Women’s World Cup in Tenerife, Spain.

Nigeria clinched its second win of the tournament courtesy a 75-70 win over Argentina in the final round of group games played earlier today.

The African Champions had five players score double digit points in the win with Promise Amukamara scoring 16 points in the win.

Nigeria plays Greece tomorrow for a place in the quarterfinals in what has turned out to be a historic run by the West African nation.

On the other hand, the results went in favour of Senegal despite losing 66-75 to China in Group D as the record African Champions get another shot at making the quarterfinals.

The team takes on host nation Spain in a game Senegal is bound to receive a hostile reception; Spain lost 63-72 to Belgium. With the win, Belgium has progressed to the quarterfinals.

This year’s World Cup ends on Sunday September 30.
