The start of the 2018-2019 GSP Basketball League has been postponed according to news reaching Basketballghana.com
The league campaign was scheduled to tip off today at the Eusbett Court in Sunyani but management announced that will not happen.
Reasons are yet to be announced and a rescheduled date has not been named in the upcoming season which had planned to feature 10 teams.
Since its inception in 2015, GSP has had eight teams play in three editions with Suncity Braves winning twice and University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) winning the 2016-2017.
It presents the latest challenge to the season which has been hit with a slew of setbacks mainly financial and logistical challenges.
While Braves and UENR have dominated the league, recent performances from the likes of LIR Royals and Desert Rabbits have been encouraging.
Sunyani Technical University looks to be a worthy contender in the near future after hiring former UENR Coach Andrew Quansah late last season. He guided the team to the UPAC quarterfinal stage.
