Ghana Wheelchair Basketball Federation Media Director Sandy Asiedu will represent Ghana at the Yale University Basketball Training Camp.

Basketballghana.com got word of the news via an official letter from the esteemed University’s Tuakli Lab which is a joint venture with University of Michigan.

Veteran Basketball Pundit Asiedu will represent the West African nation at the week long event which starts on Friday, September 28.

The event has emphasis on athletes with disabilities and members of WNBA’s Connecticut Sun and Yale’s Basketball Team will also feature in the event.

Assistant Clinical Professor for Yale School of Public Health, Dr. Yetsa Tuakli- Wosornu addressed the invitation letter to Asiedu stating clearly the terms of his impending visit. Dr. Yetsa Tuakli- Wosornu has served as a member of the International Paralympic Medical Committee for four years.

The trip is all expense paid and Asiedu is expected to leave Ghana early next week; he is expected to provide detailed information regarding the sport in the West African nation for further collaboration between the entities.

Below are excerpts of the letter:

“Our goal [Tuakli] is to expand our training program to include members of Ghana’s National Wheelchair Basketball…We thus cordially invite Mr. Asiedu to participate in our training camp annually, starting this year.”

“Sandy is a vital and collaborator for us…Sports Pundit on Kwese TV in Ghana and the Media Director for Ghana’s National Wheelchair Basketball Federation…We therefore see this visit as an opportunity for him to learn about out work”.
