Basketballghana.com can confirm Ghana Wheelchair Basketball Media Director Sandy Asiedu will participate in this year’s Yale University Basketball Training Camp.
The program, which commences on Friday, September 28, is hosted by the Tuakli Lab-a joint venture between Yale University and University of Michigan.
The program will focus on “sports with disabilities” according to the official addressed from the prestigious institution to Asiedu.
WNBA’s Connecticut Sun and Yale’s Basketball Team will participate in the one week camp with the goal of expanding to include Ghana’s Wheelchair Basketball Team.
Ghana’s team-Black Chariots-has enjoyed a successful spell in recent years but a chronic shortage of finances has halted the team’s progress.
Per information reaching Basketballghana.com, Asiedu is expected to depart Ghana early next week for the major program.
Asiedu has served as Media Director of Ghana’s Wheelchair Basketball Federation and doubles as a basketball pundit and scout.
Plans are far advanced to have a similar program run in Ghana in the near future hence Asiedu’s invitation.
