The second quarter ended in a 23-22 lead for Galaxy as Nafisa Iddrissu missed the chance to tie the score as she converted one of two free throws in the final act of the first half.
Galaxy got off to a quick start in the third quarter to take a 29-23 lead but Fire trimmed the deficit to a point (30-31) with 3:12 remaining after a three point shot from Iddrissu.
Naa Shika Moffat extended Galaxy’s lead on a layup after grabbing her offensive rebound. Maria Mensah drained a big three point shot. Fire scored two quick shots but run out of time to fall 34-38 to Galaxy.
