Adabraka CYO has grabbed its maiden win in the CAP 7 Memorial Basketball Tournament following a 46-35 victory over Nima Novas.
CYO made its debut in the tournament on Day 2 as it lost 38-58 to Adenta Leopards; the win over Novas came on Day 4 played at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu.
The competition is being played in honour of departed Accra Basketball League (ABL) Chairman Benjamin Baafi who passed away a year ago.
However, the loss to CYO is Novas’ second in two games in the tournament and all but writes the team off the roster for the latter stages.
Novas missed out on a win in its opening fixture against Tesano Icons losing 44-47 to the latter and take on Adenta Leopards on Thursday, September 20.
CYO will be in action on Wednesday against Icons in a crucial game that virtually decides who progresses to the latter stage.
Braves of Customs blew out Dunk Knights via a 71-16 win in the Women’s Division.
