Tema Community 2 has clinched a narrow but inspired win over Teshie Vikings in the Tema Community Basketball League matchup played earlier tonight.
Community 2 secured a 57-54 win over Vikings with the former battling back from a double digit deficit at a certain point in the game to record the win.
The team in red suffered a stinging loss to Tema Rockets in its last league fixture and the team sets C 2 up nicely for a run at a postseason spot.
Kinsley Quist drained a three point shot to give Vikings a 54-48 lead but C2 responded to trail by two points (52-54) with six minutes remaining in the fourth quarter.
C2 Guard Jeffrey Djimatey stole the ball and scored a layup to give C2 a 56-54 lead as Vikings made costly turnovers in the final minutes of the game. C2 played the entire game with just five players.
The story was quite different for another shorthanded team as Teshie Rangers got roasted by home side and defending league champions Tema Community 4.
With a strong component of its roster featuring in the CAP 7 Memorial Tournament in honor of departed Ghana Basketball Legend Benjamin Baafi, Rangers were overrun by Community 4.
C4 clinched a 23-8 first quarter lead and went on to clinch a heavy 78-23 win.
