There will be no league games played in the Accra Basketball League (ABL) this week Basketballghana.com can confirm.
This is due to the start of the “Cap 7 Basketball Tournament” in the coming days with the maiden edition of a competition held in honour of former ABL Chair Benjamin Baafi.
Baafi served as ABL Chair before his demise in 2017 after a long battle with illness; he also served as Chairman of the Greater Accra Basketball Association.
CAP 7 is set to commence on Thursday, September 14 and end on Saturday, September 22 at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu.
The last round ended over this past week with the likes of Braves of Customs, Adenta Leopards and Tema Youth clinching wins in the Men’s Division I.
In the Women’s Division, Ghana Fire Service and Tudu Galaxy clinched respective wins over Reformers of Prisons and Dunk Knights.
Baafi won the Dedication and Valour prize at the 2016 Ghana Basketball Awards after his extensive contribution to basketball’s growth in Ghana.
