Philippines based Ghana Center Abdul Wahab AbdulRazak has dropped a major bomb in a recent interview regarding his view about Ghana’s prospects in basketball.

Speaking on celebrated basketball program Courtside on Ghana channel Kwese Free Sports, the Jose Rizal University Center didn’t mince words when he stated “there is no future in basketball in Ghana”.

AbdulRazak is in Ghana following his extended run with Rizal University’s Heavy Bombers where his defensive plays led the side to Final Four appearances in the Filipino College league.

AbdulWahab returns to the West African nation with a Degree in Business Management and a strong desire to help grow the game. However, he believes unless things change, the sport has no future in football dominant Ghana.

“Honestly, there is no future in basketball in Ghana because there are not many people helping the game” he said.

He did single out Rite Sports Chief Executive Officer Yaw Sakyi Afari for his excellent work in raising the profile of basketball in Ghana.

Rite Sports Limited is behind Ghana’s biggest basketball competitions headlined by Sprite Ball and UPAC.
