Organizing an event like the recently ended SWIFT Hoops 3×3 Basketball Tournament gives young players the chance to be better according to Dalex Finance Manager Beauty Olerkie Larbie.
She made the statement in an exclusive interview with Basketballghana.com after Legon Guerillas representing University of Ghana (UG) won the competition with an 11-10 win over Royals of Radford University College at the Aviation Center in Ghana’s capital, Accra on Friday.
The competition was the final phase to a series of trial games held in various tertiary institutions in the country early this year. SWIFT Hoops is exclusively for college and university students.
Impressed with the level of talent on display, Larbie was quick to point out the importance of providing such a platform for players to show off their skills:
“When we develop young talent like this, it does a lot to them they become better at what they do. They become better at themselves because we need to be competitive to be able to achieve more”.
Guerillas and Royals walked away with 4000 and 2000 Ghana Cedis respectively and assorted items from Dalex Finance SWIFT.
