Ghana made the final cut in the female division of the upcoming FIBA Africa 3×3 Cup set to be played from November 9-11 in Lome, Togo.

The country will participate alongside a bevy of heavy hitters in Nigeria, Egypt, Mali and Africa’s representative at the last World Cup, Uganda.

However, in the male division, Ghana missed out on a place among the top dozen countries to play in the two day tournament later this year.

Despite beating Ivory Coast 18-9 in a shock win, Ghana fell to the likes of Nigeria, Mali and Mauritania; Ghana lost 19-21 to Mauritania and 11-18 to Mali.

Ghana featured in the Zone 3 Championship this past week in Cotonou, Benin and had players from its elite league-Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division – including veteran Guard Benjamin Debrah represent the nation.

Host Benin progressed to the continental tournament alongside favorites Nigeria and Mali. Below is the full list of qualified teams:

Bénin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Côte d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Egypt, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritania, Nigeria, Togo, Uganda
