The Dalex Finance funded headline 3×3 Basketball competition dubbed “SWIFT Hoops” tips off later this week on Friday August 24 at the Aviation Social Center in Ghana’s capital, Accra.
The competition is exclusively for 24 teams representing tertiary institutions in the nation to battle for laurels in the sport’s popular form.
Prior to the commencement of the one day tournament, a series of build of games took place at different tertiary institution centers.
In the form of triangular games, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology held the final round of games in Kumasi.
Friday’s event has a wider cast of teams and tertiary institutions to compete for prizes ranging from 4000 Ghana Cedis to medals.
Other prizes including an I Phone X, Beats Headphones and assorted items from sponsor Dalex Finance will be handed out.
Former Koforidua Senior High Technical School standout Guard Emmanuel Ekow Amoako has been appointed Ambassador of the event.
The competition’s timing comes off Ghana’s recent participation at the FIBA 3X3 Zone 3 Championship where the nation missed out on qualifying to the continental games.
