The 2018 3×3 West African Championship tips off later today in Cotonou, Benin with Ghana participating in the Male Division and Female Division.
Ghana will be in competition with fellow sub regional nations including Nigeria, Host Benin, Niger, Burkina Faso and Ivory Coast.
This year’s competition will come to an end on Friday August 17 with the winners progressing to the main continental Championship.
Ghana’s contingent is made up of members from the nation’s premier club basketball league-Accra Basketball League (ABL).
Female Division league leaders Ghana Police Service have three players in Ghana’s squad including Balkisu Saleem with the lone exception being Tudu Galaxy’s Naa Shika Moffat.
In the Male Team, veteran Guard Benjamin Debrah represents Police; the remaining spots are occupied by David Maja, Desmond Cobblah and Godwin Tetteh.
With a few minutes prior to jump ball, Basketballghana.com can confirm a change in schedule for Ghana’s fixtures.
The country will face Mali in both divisions with the opening game featuring a clash between Benin and Niger in the Male Division and Benin and Ivory Coast in the Female Division.
