Players from Accra Basketball League (ABL) outfit Ghana Police Service dominate the roster for Ghana’s contingent at the upcoming FIBA 3X3 Basketball West African Championship.
Ghana will be represented in the Male and Female Divisions with four players representing each team; the competition tips off tomorrow and ends on Friday August 17.
This year’s competition will be held in Benin’s capital, Cotonou with the likes of Nigeria, Guinea, Mali, Ivory Coast and Niger competing.
Ghana’s Female Team has three players selected to compete in the games; Balkisu Saleem, Georgina Adjeibea Ntow and Zenabu Mohammed will represent Ghana.
The lone exception is Tudu Galaxy’s Naa Shika Moffat and the aforementioned trio have been instrumental in Police’s rise to the ABL summit.
Police remains unbeaten in nine games and is in line to end Braves of Customs dominance of the league; Braves are the defending champions in the 2018 season.
Police has a lone representative in the Male team with veteran Guard Benjamin Debrah leading the group; this is Debrah’s second straight 3×3 tourney following last year’s feature in Togo.
