Technical handlers of University of Ghana Male Basketball Team will lead prospective players through an 11 day basketball camp at the tertiary institution.
The camp will run from August 13 to August 24 with several activities taking place at Ghana’s premier university’s main court in Legon.
The program is targeting young players ideally between ages seven and 14 with an eye for developing their skills in the sport.
Areas that will be focused include shooting, ball handling, building up confidence and breaking down tactical game plays.
Coaches Dr. Baba Samori and Emmanuel Ankamah will do the teaching with some members of the all conquering UG team helping out.
The program is supported by the institution’s Sports Directorate which is headed by long tenured educationist Dr. Bella Bello Bitugu.
UG’s Male has been on a winning streak since annexing the 2016 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship.
The team recently defended its All Africa University Games successfully by topping the field at the recently ended 2018 edition in Ethiopia.
